City of Milaca
The city of Milaca is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 169 and Minnesota Highway 23 along the beautiful Rum River. It boasts a vibrant downtown business district, and a thriving industrial park. The city is always ready to work with new businesses and residents to make Milaca their home.
Milaca is located in Mille Lacs County in East Central Minnesota approximately 60 miles from Minneapolis. Our location provides easy access to the Twin Cities and Saint Cloud, yet we maintain our small town charm. We are very proud of our community, and we hope you participate in the many community activities sponsored by the Chamber and the city.
As a Minnesota Star City, Milaca is recognized for its leadership in working with local businesses to ensure continued growth. Businesses in the community are able to meet the needs of residents and travelers alike.
Milaca arguably has the finest mountain bike trail system in the state. The 14-mile, single-track trails are cut though a park reserve along the serene Rum River, and provide challenges to riders of any skill level. To provide for year-round use, the trails are groomed for cross-country skiing in the winter months.
Aside from the bike trail systems, Milaca offers many other amenities for residents and travelers alike. The city maintains four municipal parks, with two located on the Rum River. The River is home to a wide variety of wildlife, making activities around the Rum very popular. Milaca also maintains two baseball fields and an outdoor skating rink – whether winter, spring, summer or fall, there are always plenty of recreational activities to take part in.
