Salvation Army is looking for Bell Ringers

Local donations toward the Salvation Army fell from $10,000 several years ago to only about $2,000 in 2019 due to lack of volunteers.  Last years donations, while stronger, fell about $2000 short of area needs. Beth Sumner, along with a few other community members, are working with the Salvation Army to rectify that by reaching out to local churches, organizations and community members in search for volunteers.  Three businesses have invited us to ring at their door this year, that’s two more than two years ago. We are looking to fill 207 volunteer hours in the month of December. This is a big ask, but we know that we are part of a supportive community and that these hours could be filled easily!

We are asking that individuals or groups sign up for 2 hour time slots. Below are the opportunities to ring:

Teal’s Market
Wednesdays in December (3:30pm – 7:30pm): 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd
Saturdays in December (10:00am – 5:00pm): 4th, 11th, 18th

Unclaimed Freight
Wednesdays in December (12:00pm – 5:00pm): 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd
Saturdays in December (10:00am – 5:00pm): 4th, 11th, 18th

Koch’s Hardware Hank
Wednesdays in December (3:30pm – 6:30pm): 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd
Saturdays in December (10:00am – 5:00pm): 4th, 11th, 18th
